AIS - Amnesty International Slovenia

Description

Amnesty International Slovenia was established in 1988  and since then we have been campaigning for human rights by exposing violations, teaching about human rights, governments lobbying and mobilizing people to sign petitions and appeals in order to make authorities stop violating human rights. Our work is independent from the state, corporations and businesses as well as from religious organizations. We connect over 8,000 members and supporters and approximately 50 active volunteers and a small team of employees. Every day we stand for individuals or groups, who are: - imprisoned for their non-violent action for human rights, evicted, missing or erased, - discriminated beacause of their sex, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation or other personal circumstances, - denied their freedom of speech, expression and gathering, prosecuted for their commitment to the rights of others or for the disclosure of unpleasant truths. Our work, actions and campaigns in Slovenia are currently focused on combating discrimination, in particular the Roma and erased.
